Join getrect, join esports

GetRECt doesn't just organize eSports events, we organize eSports. From working with high schools and universities across the region to working with communities both local and online we do whatever it takes to bring people together. We hope that by working with communities and schools we can get enough visibility for eSports to both grow our events into something truly unique and bring new gamers into awesome communities they would have never found otherwise.

In general, we're looking for people who meet the following criteria:

  • Passionate

  • Experienced Gamer
  • Plenty of free time

Wanting to be a part of a kick-ass team that likes to make fun content for gamers (tournaments, events, streams, hype videos, graphics, etc.) is an awesome reason to join. But with the growing network and opportunities we're creating, being a part of the team will provide you with a lot of experience in the world of eSports. It will be great experience, resume building and networking for someone who wants to work towards a full-time esports career, in their spare time. 


Tournament Coordinator

Game: Hearthstone

Tournament Coordinators are in charge of creating and organizing events both online and in-person. The TCs should be familiar with the Toornament website and other software such as Discord, Battlefy and any other related program that could potentially be used to organize an event. The one shot TCs are expected to produce at least one event every five weeks. The TCs are required to have expansive knowledge of the video game they are running and will act as the head official in their own events.

The list of duties for the TCs are as follows:

  • Organize and advertise events at least once every five weeks
  • Be able to coordinate and run events both online and LAN
  • Work in Toornament to set up tournament registration and handle all registration needs
  • Work with the Community Manager to schedule events to make sure no overlap occurs
  • Work with the Community Manager to make sure prizing, rules and description are approved and coincide with the values and culture of GetRECt
  • Manage and moderate Discord usage, if necessary
  • Act as a head official and provide guidance on rulings for tournaments/events they host
  • Work with Hearthstone community leaders across the region

Game: Overwatch

eSports Director

Game: Multiple Titles

The eSports Director is in charge of directing the efforts and scheduling of the various GetRECt Tournament Coordinators. In gaming terms, if a Tournament Coordinator is focused on the micro game (player experience, content, logistics, etc.) then the eSports Director is focused on the macro game. Making sure events fit well together to provide a clear, organized picture of what GetRECt events look like to both GetRECt staff and gaming community members/players.

The list of duties for the eSports Director include but are not limited to:

  • Managing the GetRECt events schedule
  • Preventing lulls in action
  • Being well versed in every eSport GetRECt organizes events for
  • Prepared to meet with community leaders and current/potential partners
  • Assisting TC's and/or directing them to the appropriate GetRECt staff member
  • Innovating event organization, structure, protocol, etc.
  • Be prepared to do whatever is needed during lapses in manpower.

OKLCS Coordinator

Game: League of Legends

The OKLCS Coordinator handles the logistics of the OKLCS. They should be familiar with the Toornament website and other software such as Discord and any other related program that could potentially be used to organize this event. The Coordinator must also be articulate, and able to act professionally in the face of the most extreme circumstances. They must be able to work around the protocol put in place for the event, and will work closely with the COO (Alex Tu) to be sure that they learn how the OKLCS should be run.

The list of duties for the OKLCS Coordinator include but are not limited to:

  • Working alongside the Marketing Director to advertise the OKLCS
  • Handling registration and interest periods
  • Organizing streaming and post match form submission
  • Working with team captains to provide good player experience
  • Organizing and manning OKLCS LAN Playoffs
  • Recruiting and managing OKLCS Volunteer Staff

Recruitment Director

Game: Primarily LoL, but includes multiple titles

The Recruitment Director manages the relationship between GetRECt and its partnered/allied high schools, universities and communities. As well as recruiting new groups and organizations to work with GetRECt in whatever capacity that way be.

The list of duties of the Recruitment Director include but are not limited to:

  • Travel with the COO for on-site meetings
  • Manage relationships with many different communities and schools
  • Begin relationships with new communities and schools
  • Work with the Marketing Director in creating recruitment marketing content
  • Keep constant contact and record of GetRECt partnerships, community partnerships, and alliances.

Broadcasting Lead

The Broadcasting Lead position is one that requires expansive knowledge of both broadcasting services and broadcasting equipment.
